Key Benefits of Watermans Grow Me Shampoo
Watermans Grow Me Shampoo Ingredient Breakdown
Hydrolyzed lupin protein
Hydrolyzed lupin protein helps facilitate the supply of oxygen and nutrients required for hair development. It also acts simultaneously on three executive factors that are responsible for the hair growth cycle – Cell metabolism, hormonal balance and the vascular system (responsible for blood flow). Hydrolyzed lupin protein stimulates the differentiation capacity of cells transmitted to the hair bulb. The hair bulb essentially is the point in which blood is transmitted to the hair allowing it to grow.
like rosemary (another product used in Watermans Grow Me Shampoo), hydrolyzed lupin protein also acts as an extra line of defense against the DHT hormone responsible for male pattern hair loss, female pattern hair loss and androgenetic alopecia.
Watermans Grow Me Shampoo re-establishes the hormonal balance by inhibiting the activity of 5-α reductase 2. 5-α reductase 2 is an enzyme that catalyses the hydroxylation of testosterone that forms 5-α -DHT (dihydrotestosterone) which is a molecule involved in the miniaturization of hair follicles. When hair follicles miniaturize hair becomes finer and eventually stops growing.
Boitin
Another main ingredient used in Watermans Grow Me Shampoo is Biotin. Biotin is also known as Vitamin H. This ingredient is known for stimulating healthy hair growth as well as preventing dryness.
Biotin also helps to increase your hair’s elasticity making it less prone to breakage. This is especially useful for people who naturally have dry brittle hair. Biotin can induce and excel growth of both your hair and skin cells. Healthier looking skin and stronger nails are common bonuses associated with this ingredient.
Caffeine
Other than being the best thing ever in the morning, caffeine is also a really great ingredient to stimulate blood flow to your hair follicles. Caffeine can take up to 2 minutes to take effect on the scalp, so if you decide you want to give Watermans Grow Me Shampoo a go, make sure you allow enough time for the caffeine to activate and work it’s magic.
A study published in the International Journal of Dermatology concluded that “caffeine stimulates the hair shaft and helps the hair grow faster by blocking the effect of a chemical known to damage hair follicles called DHT”
In further research from Watermans, they also found that the International Journal of Trichology states “…newer advances have shown caffeine to have beneficial effects in patients suffering from [Androgenetic alopecia] AGA. The proposed mechanism which would counteract DHT-induced miniaturization of the hair follicle include inhibition of phosphodiesterase by caffeine, which increases cAMP levels in cells, therefore promotes proliferation by stimulating cell metabolism.”
Argan Oil Kernels
Argan oil makes your hair look and feel fabulous but it also helps ease an itchy dry flaking scalp and/or dandruff. Argan oil also helps restore colour and heat damaged by locking in moisture smoothing the cuticle whilst adding extra shine.
Rosemary Extract
Rosemary is considered one of the most powerful herbs on the planet and has been used by ancient Egyptians, Romans and Greeks as a treatment for hairloss.
When the rosemary extract in Watermans Grow Me Shampoo hits the scalp, it also acts as a stimulant and improves circulation to the scalp. Rosemary also has awesome antibacterial properties that gently cleanse each hair and increases shine.
Rosemary is known to aid in preventing baldness and can slow premature grey hair growth. It also is great natural ingredient that lowers the amount of DHT (hair loss hormone) on the scalp.
Allantoin
Allantoin comes from Comfrey Root and is fantastic for skin regeneration and can be very soothing for the scalp. Because Allantoin is so good for skin cell regeneration, it’s great for any scalp wounds or post scalp surgeries.
Allantoin is an active ingredient used in the Watermans Grow Me Shampoo and has great anti-inflammatory properties. Allantoin is yet another amazing ingredient for fighting dandruff and scalp conditions outside of dandruff like psoriasis, eczema and seborrhea.
Allantoin also improves hair elasticity and softness along with adding a slight glossy effect. Being keratolytic, allantoin also helps moisturize your hair and scalp. It softens keratin which allows the scalp and hair to hold onto moisture making your hair look thicker after one wash.
Just FYI, Keratin is an extremely hard protein so by softening it, moisture is allowed to be retained in your hair and scalp.
